Bharat Biotech, based in Hyderabad, completed Phase 2 and Phase 3 tests of Covaxin on children under the age of 18 in September and submitted the trial results to India's Drugs and Comptroller General (DCGI). Following careful deliberation, the committee recommended that the vaccine be approved for limited use in emergency settings in children aged 2 to 18. The vaccine, which was developed in India, will be administered in two doses with a 20-day interval between them.
