Allegedly, one of the passages makes a sexist remark about women. "The passage is unfortunate for 2021. Women do not like being relegated to second positions. The passage was blatantly patriarchal, I'm glad it was taken down," tells Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Former Chairperson of The National Commission for Women. The CBSE, or Central Board of Secondary Education, announced that a profound misogynist Class 10 English exam question on "disobedience of wives," which had been marked as deeply misogynist, will be eliminated. The passage has been removed since it "does not comply with the norms"; pupils will receive full marks for the question, the CBSE announced seconds after Congress President Sonia Gandhi addressed it in parliament.
