13:00Now PlayingHindu religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj was arrested by the police in Chhattisgarh on Thursday, four days after an FIR was registered at a local court against him for allegedly abusing Mahatma Gandhi. He would be presented before the court, where he will be duly produced, said the police. Home Minister Narottam Mishra of Madhya Pradesh has protested the manner of Kalicharan's arrest by the Police from Chhattisgarh. The Director-General of Police will now speak with his counterpart in Chhattisgarh to register his protest. Responding to Narottam Mishra's criticism, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, "Mishra should be happy about the arrest of a person who insulted Mahatma Gandhi. No rules have been violated and the arrest has followed procedures." Amid Kalicharan's arrest, Haridwar hate mongers are still roaming free who called out for genocide against minorities.
