as posted by the channelThe GST Council's 46th meeting took place today at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presided over the meeting.
The Council has deferred the decision on increasing GST for textile and footwear. This discussion will now take place in the February meeting. This hike from 5 to 12 percent on textile sector was proposed in the September meeting.
Union ministers of state in the Ministry of Finance, Pankaj Chauhary and Bhagwat Karad also attended this meeting.
SOme Goods and Services Tax rules might change from January 1st.
