Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted a video of protesters holding a BJP flag as a Prime Minister convoy was stuck on the highway. He also said, "Modi Ji isn't this proof that you tried to defame people of Punjab and the Congress Chief Minister Channi's Government." Kharge said Modi did not stick to his itinerary, deciding to take the road instead of a helicopter. Some protesters blocked his convoy, forcing the Prime Minister to remain stranded and exposed on the Ferozepur flyover for 15-20 minutes. The program was ultimately cancelled and the Prime Minister, forced to return to the Bhatinda airport.
