9:09Now PlayingChanges in the IAS Cadre rules has now drawn criticism from as many as 8 states with Chief Ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu writing to Prime Minister Modi, asking him to withdraw this proposal. The amendments will now allow the Union government to post IAS officers on Central deputation thereby enabling them to bypass the state governments. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stated that these news rules will induce fear. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also added that instead of these changes, the central govt should engage with the state govt to strengthen the federal spirit.
