3:04Now PlayingAs per the latest news on Mirror Now, Karnataka has passed bills that hike the salaries of the Chief Minister of the state and the MLAs. The bill proposes to increase the monthly salary of the Chief Minister from Rs.50,000- to Rs.75,000. Meanwhile, salaries of Ministers have been increased from Rs.40,000- to Rs.60,000. The government has cited an exponential rise in petrol and diesel rates, house rents, and medical expenses as reasons for this hike. The hikes will result in an additional state expenditure of about Rs.90 crore per annum. At a time when the soaring level of inflation is causing problems to men on the street, the Karnataka government lawmakers seem to prioritize themselves.
