Prime Minister is himself a sitting MP from the Varanasi seat and hence this region is considered crucial for the Bharatiya Janata Party. At the same time, Congress is also campaigning extensively in the region with Rahul Gandhi visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, earlier in the day. Prime Minister will be staying in Varanasi for two days and is scheduled to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple as well. Varanasi will undergo elections on 7th March, which will also be the last phase of elections in UP.
