The Ukrainian President also asked for the Israeli Prime Minister to act as an intermediary and seeks his help for the release of the Melitopol city Mayor who has been allegedly abducted by Russia. Zelensky in a media brief said that 'Israeli PM can play ‘an important role in efforts to end the war.' Meanwhile, Zelensky also confirmed that his government assessed that some 1,300 Ukrainian troops had been killed in the fighting so far. He insisted that Russian losses were far higher around 12,000.
