In this episode of The Urban Debate, with Heena Gambhir, we discuss the report of the parliamentary standing committee on defence table din the parliament on Wednesday. At a time when military confrontation with China in Ladakh shows no sign of de-escalation, Indian Armed Forces received Rs.63000 crore less than what they had actually demanded for military modernization in this year's budget. The Parliamentary Panel has expressed concern over the fund shortfall and has suggested that adequate budgetary allocations must be made available to the armed forces. It also said that the defense ministry should not make any more reductions in the coming year. We are joined by Gen VP Malik, former army chief and Maroof Raza, Consulting editor of Times Network to understand the latest developments. Listen in!
