The inspector incharge of Rampurhat Police Station in Birbhum district has been suspended with immediate effect for misconduct and dereliction of duty. Tridip Pramanik was posted as the inspector in charge. Eight people including two children had allegedly died in Bhirbum on Monday. The suspension took place hours after West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee visited Bhirbum and met the families of the victims who were burnt alive.
