The capital market regulator, Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has suggested that public figures should refrain from endorsing cryptocurrency. SEBI has also shared its views with the Union Finance Ministry. This comes as the Reserve Bank of India, as well as the Government, are contemplating the future and use of crypto in the country and the Ministry too questioned the officials about the aspects of it all. SEBI has submitted a detailed response too.

Talking about the advertising scenario, the regulator has suggested the companies share an advertisement disclosure listing the potential violation of laws while trading crypto. Such platforms are roping in celebrities and public figures as brand ambassadors, which should be looked into too.
