The Benchmark wheat index grew as much as 5.9% in Chicago. The highest it has been in two months. This is the latest in terms of the wheat prices in the global inflation which is a fallout of the Russian Ukraine War and also a fallout of global inflation. India yesterday decided to ban wheat exports. The Centre came out to defend its move saying that it was doing it to protect its food security in India and following this move by India, wheat prices have skyrocketed across the world. India is the main producer of food grain.
