2:51Now PlayingAs per the latest news on Mirror Now, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan has hit out at the Centre. Minister tweeted saying, "The union government didn't inform, let alone ask for any state's view when they increased union taxes on fuel. Now, after rolling back 50% of their increases, they're exhorting states to cut." The Minister has questioned whether this is federalism.
On Saturday Modi government reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs.8/liter and diesel by Rs.6. The govt. also announced Rs.200 subsidy per cylinder for 9 crores beneficiaries and a custom cut on raw materials on certain products on which India's import dependence is high.
