Ambedkar on Wednesday, prompting the deployment of a large police presence. So far, 46 people have been arrested in connection with yesterday's large-scale violence, which saw the homes of a minister and an MLA set ablaze. In response to indications that more groups are planning rallies in support of the government's plans to rename the district, police increased security by deploying more officers from several districts. At several locations, demonstrators became violent, throwing stones at police and setting fire to vehicles. They also set fire to the homes of P.Viswaroop, state minister, and Satish, a member of the Legislative Assembly. Meanwhile, dozens of people including cops, were also injured in the protest.
