Center defends ban on Malayalam news channel MediaOne TV. Filing an affidavit in Supreme Court, it stated that the reasons behind the ban cannot be disclosed citing national security concerns. For the unversed, govt had put a ban on MediaOne TV since January 31 citing “security reasons”. The channel is purportedly supported by the Kerala unit of Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat-e-Islami is a socio-religious political organization, which the center had declared “unlawful” for five years in 2019. Watch to know more!
