Kashmir Valley has witnessed at least 16 targeted killings, including police officials, teachers and sarpanches, since January this year. As many as 8 people have been killed in 27 days. On Thursday, a labourer, Dilkhush Kumar(17) from Bihar, was shot by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam. While in Kulgam, a bank employee hailing from Rajasthan was also killed on Thursday. It was the eighth targeted killing and third non-Muslim government employee.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah held a meeting to discuss the recent spate of targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was attended by L-G Manoj Sinha, Army Chief Manoj Pandey, DGP J&K Dilbag Singh, Raw Chief Samant Goel, BSF Chief Pankaj Singh, CRPF Chief Kuldeep Singh.
