Mohammed Javed and his daughter Afreen Fatima, whose house the Uttar Pradesh administration demolished on 12 June in Prayagraj, are members of the city’s civil society. Both are members of the Welfare Party of India. Fatima's university, JNU, also saw protests over the matter. Afreen claims that her father was arrested without any warrant.
