The Union Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh on Tuesday announced an Agnipath scheme under which the youth will be provided an opportunity to work as an army force and will get an opportunity to serve the country. The Agnipath model comprises PBOR in the Army, Air force, And Navy for 4 years which will also include training for six months. And the youth who will be joining as a soldier in the Agnipath model will be known as Agniveer. Lieutenant Gen Anil Puri, Additional Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, stated during the media briefing, "Today's average age is around 32 years, but it will soon drop to 26 years. This will take 6-7 years. To reshape military services into youthful, tech-savvy, and modern forces, it is necessary to harness youth potential and develop him into a future-ready soldier ".
