Shaktikanta Das, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, has denied the criticism of the central bank. In a statement, Das said that RBI has fallen behind the inflation curve and a pre-mature increase in interest rates when India’s economic growth was unstable could have dealt a poor blow to the economy.
On asking about the several complaints of harassment by the loan sharks and his views on Das's statement, Kishore Subramanian, the Founder of Shree Consultants, says, "There are rights and privacy of a borrower. There has been a history of collection issues happening in India."
