MVA which was defeated by the opposing party BJP in the latest Rajya Sabha elections in Maharashtra is now facing a new similar challenge. In the upcoming Legislative Council Elections MVA wants to elect all six of its candidates. This has once again drawn attention to Independents and smaller parties. During Rajyasabha Elections despite the Support of AIMIM Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi lost a seat to the Bhartiya Janta Party which managed to get the support of other small parties. Now once again this situation is arising and it will be an interesting election. MeanWhile, the terms of the nine currently serving members of the legislative council expire on July 7, and an election for the vacant 10th seat was required due to the death of a BJP legislator earlier this year. The election will be on 20th June.
