At his residence earlier today, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hosted a meeting on the Agnipath initiative. The chiefs of the three services were present for the conference. According to reports, the meeting's main goal was to ensure speedy implementation of the 'Agnipath' program. The Agnipath initiative is being briefed by the Indian Army's Adjutant General Lieutenant General Bansi Ponappa, the Navy's Chief of Personnel Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, and the Air Force's Personnel in-charge Air Marshal Suraj Jha. Officials commented on the Agnipath project that the rising age factor in the armed forces is concerning; even the Kargil review committee discussed it.
