as posted by the channelFollowing continuous rains, the Meghalaya administration has issued a state-wide alert following several landslides on one of the state's most important lifelines, National Highway 6, near the Lumshnong Police Station in East Jaintia Hills. States like Mizoram and Tripura, as well as the Barak Valley in southern Assam, will be inconvenienced by the closure of NH-6. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma paid a visit to the area today to evaluate the National Highway 6 rescue and damage. On Thursday, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya had a review meeting with deputy commissioners from various districts, after which they resolved to construct four regional committees, each headed by a minister.
