8:37Now PlayingThe ongoing battle for the control of the Shiv Sena between party president Uddhav Thackeray and rebel leader Eknath Shinde played out on the streets of Maharashtra on Saturday with the cadres loyal to the Thackerays staging protests against the rebels. Rebel Sena MLA Deepak Kesarkar, who is in Guwahati, told Times Network on phone that the group supporting Eknath Shinde will move the Bombay high court early next week to challenge the decision of Uddhav Thackeray to replace Shinde from the party chief whip’s post and to appoint a new MLA to the post.
Eknath Shinde tweeted, “Dear Shiv Sainiks, recognize the game of the MVA. I am fighting to rescue the Shiv Sena from the crocodile grip of the MVA. This battle is for the benefit of Shiv Sainiks.”
