2:46Now PlayingAaditya Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena and former minister of Maharashtra claimed on Sunday that he has asked the Maharashtra government to build a veterinary hospital on the site of the Aarey metro car shed. "They shouldn't vent their anger at us in the city. Due to the impending effects of climate change, jungles and the ecosystem must be safeguarded ", Aditya said to reporters. Earlier today he urged the CM Eknath Shinde administration to abandon the Aarey metro project. The Aarey community would lose approximately 2,700 trees as part of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation's proposal to construct a car shed for the Metro. The 13,000-hectare colony contains approximately 27 Adivasi settlements and a variety of animal species.
