9:39Now PlayingIn today's episode of The Big Focus Show with Afrida Rahman Ali, we discuss about the Odisha governmnet that bans journalists from entry into government schools in at least 2 districts- Dhenkanal and Kendrapara.This has triggered a controversy. The decision to ban journalist’s entry was taken after one of the journalist entered a school and filmed the teachers and students of a 5th standard class, unable to do a simple mathematical problems which involved multiplication tables. After he shot this video, it went viral and was widely aired by certain news channel, bringing embarrassment to the school teachers and the state government. Following this incident, the district education officer circulars banning unauthorized entries into government schools and classrooms. They have also instructed all the schools to report such matters to the police.
