He was jailed between 2000 and 2004. In 2005 a Canadian court acquitted him. At around 9 o'clock Canadian time he was shot at Vancouver. He was about to get out of his car when a masked man attacked him. It's a huge loss for Sikh community in Canada. He was very helpful for the community over there. He has helped many migrants from Punjab and other parts of India in the country. He was running schools and helping many students over there.
