9:49Now PlayingAs the vote-counting process for the presidential election is underway at the Parliament House, India will find out on Thursday who will follow current President Ram Nath Kovind to become the nation's 15th President. After the first round of counting PC Mody Secretary General of Rajyasabha announced the numbers. Droupadi Murmu has secured 540 votes with a value of 3,78,000 & Yashwant Sinha has secured 208 votes with a value of 1,45,600. A total of 15 votes were invalid. Murmu winning due to the cross voting and support by parties. Now if elected, she would become the first tribal woman to hold the nation's top constitutional position. Celebrations have already started in the village of NDA nominee Draupadi Murmu, and BJP head JP Nadda plans to hold a road show following the results.
