This signifies that construction on the Mumbai metro car shed project would commence soon in the Aarey colony. This project was put on hold once the Uddhav Thackeray administration relocated to Kanjurmarg. Now that the work has returned to Aarey, it is set to start soon. The Uddhav government put a halt to the restricted forest area of 800 acres of land in the Aarey colony in 2019. However, the newly established administration of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis has overruled this.
