The United Christian Forum has now filed a PIL in the Karnataka High Court today, challenging the conversion ordinance passed by the Karnataka Assembly in May this year. The PIL states that the ordinance betrays the ideas of the Constitution of India and the principles of secularism. Hence, inciting hatred against the minority community.

The conversion bill was passed by the Karnataka Assembly but not by the upper house of parliament. The high court now sought a response from the Karnataka state government on the Christian conversion controversy issue.
