Union Health ministry in its guidelines said that even one case of monkeypox should be considered as an outbreak. The guidelines directed all the states and UTs to do a detailed investigation by 'rapid response teams' initiated through the Integrated Surveillance Programme. It also asked to report any case of monkeypox to the health ministry. Earlier, a West Delhi resident with no history of travel outside India confirmed positive for Monkeypox and was admitted to the isolation ward of Lok Nayak hospital. This was the fourth case of the monkeypox reported in India. Three cases of monkeypox had earlier been reported from Kerala.
