The Delhi High Court on Monday reserved it's decision in an appeal filed by Facebook and Whatapp. Social media giant Facebook has opposed the single judge bench's decision to reject to stay over the CCI's decision from the previous year. A notice sent by the CCI in 2021 demanding WhatsApp to provide specific information in connection with the investigation against the company's newly amended privacy policy. Meta wanted a stay on it which was denied by the court. The CCI's investigation into the most recent WhatsApp privacy policy was opposed by Meta at the most recent hearing on July 22. Meta told the high court that the CCI was not authorised to look into the matter because it owned the instant messaging service. Senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi argued during the court on behalf of Meta and claimed that the two platforms are distinct organisations.
