On Monday night, between 10.30 and 11 p.m., activists from a pro-Hindutva group in Mangaluru interfered with a farewell celebration planned by a few college students at a pub. About 15 attackers, most of whom were in their 20s and claimed to be from the Bajrang Dal, forced their way into the Mangalore bar "Amnesia- The Lounge." It is the same bar that was attacked in 2009, and in a horrifying repetition of that occurrence, partygoers were forced to leave under the pretext that women were partying there, which was against Indian cultural norms.
