as posted by the channelThe Consumer Protection Authority has sent notices to five Big E-commerce players that were selling hazardous products on their platform. The notices have been sent to Amazon, Flipkart, ShopClues, Paytm Mall and Snapdeal. The consumer body says that the investigation is over and a final order will be issued soon. The consumer affair ministry has sent legal notices to 15 people, out of which 5 are one of the biggest e-commerce platforms. The notice sent asks them to explain why these platforms sell hazardous products to lakhs of people. Nidhi Khare, the additional secretary of the consumer affairs ministry, says that previously a penalty of Rs. 1 Lakh was imposed on the companies.
