YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), which gives the Enforcement Directorate the authority to make arrests, was upheld by the Supreme Court of India on Wednesday. The court also ruled that giving the suspect an ECIR is not always necessary. The Supreme Court upheld the ED's authority to conduct investigations, make arrests, and seize property during a hearing on petitions challenging the legality of several PMLA sections today. JP Nadda, the president of the BJP, responded to the decision by saying, "The Supreme Court has upheld the PMLA and jurisdiction of ED. The Congress party's attempt to maintain one family above the law will fail since the law is operating according to its course. The law of the land must be obeyed."
