The Supreme Court upholds the Enforcement Directorate's power to capture and seize properties under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act as it dismissed a few petitions challenging the arrangements of the law, detailed Bar and Bench.
A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari, and CT Ravikumar passed the order on a bunch of 241 petitions challenging the validity of different arrangements of the law. The Supreme Court managed the validity of a wide range of powers conceded to the ED under the amended regulation against tax evasion.
