YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe Supreme Court today ordered the Maharashtra State Election Commission to reschedule elections for 367 local governments to provide for OBC reservations.
The SEC was slammed by a three-judge Bench led by Justice A M Khanwilkar, who ruled that the notification will remain.
The court said unequivocally that the election for 367 local bodies had to be announced by the May ruling. This viewpoint had been re-stated several times. The state EC was unable to re-notify the election schedules of these 367 local bodies to provide for OBC reservations. Senior attorney Shekhar Naphade, representing the state government, stated that the SEC document stated that the poll was postponed for two municipalities.
