Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the walls of the Red Fort. He declared: "India must continue to be our top priority since doing otherwise will prevent a united India. The citizens of our country worked very hard, never gave up, and didn't let their dedication wane."
He exhorted the people to adopt these five vows with him, stating that if everyone did so, India would certainly evolve into a developed nation on all fronts.
