As per the reports, Ashu was arrested over a "scam" in awarding contracts for transporting food grains. Ashu was arrested in the case of allotting transportation tenders on the fake registration numbers of vehicles.
Bhushan Ashu was food and civil supply minister under the Congress government in Punjab. Congress protests against the arrest outside the vigilance bureau. The Congress accused the AAP of witch-hunting and political vendettas.
