4:15Now PlayingThe Election Commission of India (ECI) had informed Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais that Soren should be disqualified from holding office as an MLA due to breaking electoral laws by granting himself a mining lease. Soren was accused of breaking Section 9(A) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, which governs exclusion from government contracts, by the petitioner in the case, the BJP. "A person shall be disqualified if, and for so long as, he has entered into a contract with the appropriate government in the course of his trade or business for the supply of goods to, or the execution of any works undertaken by, that government," the clause states.
