For the past 36 hours, it has been raining in Bengaluru, washing away all claims made by the Karnataka government and the city civic body about being rain ready. The city's infrastructure was washed away, schools were closed, and people were instructed to work from home. Bengaluru ‘'s temperature has varied from 32.5 degrees Celsius in 2018 to 34.9 in 2022 as of March 15 and has not breached 30 degree Celsius in May for the last 5 years. Meanwhile, Karnataka minister R Ashoka is in complete denial as he says the IT capital has not witnessed the summer season in the last 4 years.
''In the last 30- 40 years, this is the first time in the last 4 years we are seeing regular rains in Bengaluru. We have not seen summer in Bengaluru for the past 4 years'', says R Asoka
