1:37Now PlayingCongress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched party's mass contact programme, 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', at a mega rally in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot were present at the rally.
The much-touted 3,570-km 'padyatra' (foot march) will begin from Kanyakumari on Thursday morning and will end in Kashmir after crossing through 12 states and two Union territories in about five months or 150 days. Describing the march as the longest 'padyatra' undertaken by any political party in the country, the party said it is a turning point in Indian politics and marks a "new beginning”.
