as posted by the channelThe Karnataka government tabled the anti-conversion bill in the Karnataka Legislative Council today, after being passed in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Given the majority in the Upper House, BJP claimed that it is likely to pass. The bill, the Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill, 2021, will provide the right to freedom of religion and prohibition of unlawful conversion from one religion to another by misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, allurement or by any fraudulent means. The bill proposes imprisonment of up to 10 years for forced religious conversions and makes forced conversions a non-bailable offense. Watch the video to know more.
