as posted by the channelPolice in Shivamogga has detained two people on suspicion of having ties to a proscribed terrorist group. Maj Muneer Ahmed and Syed Yasin were captured. Another suspect, Shareek of Soppu Guide in Thirthahalli, has escaped. The trio had been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967 by the Shivamogga Rural Police. On September 20, the police brought them to court and obtained custody of them until September 29.
Ayub Khan, Syed Yasin's father, informed reporters that his son had been gone for more than 15 days. The family's allegation that Syed Yasin was missing was not recorded by the police. He received a phone call from the police on September 19 night alerting him that his son had been detained.
