During the Australian chase, Steven Smith edged one delivery to Karthik. But the umpire considered that the Australian batter was not out. Karthik was confident and so was bowler Umesh Yadav then riding on Karthik and Umesh's spirits, captain Rohit went for DRS. The decision went in India's favour and Smith was given OUT. Then on the last ball of the same over similar incident happened. Umpire signalled 'not out' when Umesh and Karthik appealed again. Rohit went for DRS and got a favourable result again. Celebrating two wickets in an over, Rohit jokingly choked Karthik. Talking about the match, Australia gunned down the massive target of 209 vs India.
Australia's Cameron Green took the match away from India. The all-rounder smashed a quickfire 61 runs and also took a wicket. India's failures with the ball were laid bare. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel were ripped off by the hard-hitting Australian batters. Bhuvneshwar gave 53 runs while Harshal gave 49 runs in their respective 4-over quota.
