The India Meteorological Department has issued a "yellow alert" for Friday due to the forecast moderate rainfall on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When there is a yellow alert, it means that there will likely be moderate to heavy downpours. The Gautam Buddh Nagar district government said on Thursday that due to the severe rain, classes I through VIII would be canceled on Friday. All private educational institutes in Gurgaon, meanwhile, have been instructed to remain closed.
