The Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions are not allowed to use the party name Shiv Sena or its electoral symbol, the "bow and arrow," according to an interim ruling that the Election Commission of India (ECI) released on Saturday. The EC ruled in its interim decision that none of the two factions—Uddhav Thackeray or Eknath Shinde—shall be permitted to use the "Bow & Arrow" symbol, which is exclusive to "Shivsena," in the Andheri East byelections. As a result, both teams are now required to submit their contributions as soon as feasible on October 10 by 1 PM. "There should've been court proceedings & probes, considering the way they've frozen our election symbol. What's happening in the country? Where do we see hope? We'll go to the Bombay High Court, the constitution has been made fun of", says Arvind Sawant, Shiv Sena MP (Thackeray faction). Attacking on BJP Congress Atul londhe said, "Shivsena is the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray and we are taking it Ali Baba and 40 chor along with the BJP have murdered the Sena now."
