He was on life support in his last hours after being diagnosed with a urinal infection. Yadav had also been been facing breathing problems. He was shifted to ICU on October 2 and since then entire country kept a close eye on his health. At the time he was in hospital many political leaders including Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak offered their visit and gave moral support to his son and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Post his death, from including Prime Minister Narendra Modi; many other politicians have expressed condolences and written about their relationship with Yadav.
