Heavy sanctions were imposed on Russia when the war started in February this year. But in the last eight months, India remains the one country that has openly traded with both the West and Russia. India's Minister S Jaishankar gained popularity for his various speeches countering the Western countries. He went to the US and boldly condemned their policies against India. In one of the events when he was asked why India is silent on the Ukraine-Russia war, EAM replied saying the world needs to understand that Europe's problems are not the only global issues. He focussed on the fact that Europe has thoroughly remained quiet on various conflicts in Asia. Now the eyes are on India as India's foreign minister will visit Moscow in November. Russia's foreign ministry made this announcement. Jaishankar will meet his counterpart Sergey Lavrov and they are slated to discuss various global issues including the war in Ukraine. In the last few months, PM Modi has been the one of leaders in the world who remained neutral even after having several phone calls with both Putin and Zelenskyy. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised India's independent foreign policy and described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a great patriot. Watch the video for more.
