The Supreme Court questioned the Central Government about the delay in the affidavit. and raps the government for the same. The Supreme Court ordered that November 24 will be the last day to file an affidavit.
The Center has sought time from the Supreme Court to file an affidavit as the apex court took up petitions challenging the demonetisation exercise in 2016.
Attorney General R. Venkataramani said the Center needs more time to file an affidavit "so that we can move ahead in a more structured way."
The Supreme Court's constitution bench took up the petitions on Wednesday challenging demonetisation and examined the decision-making behind it.
